StateGov for Arkansas legislators and staff
The Gavel gives an Arkansas legislator and their staff one page each morning with the member's committees, the floor calendar for both chambers, their bills and hearing video in chapters. It is in pilot and live at gavel.stategov.io.
Last checked against the sources below.
A legislator's day is spread across a lot of places: committee agendas, the House and Senate calendars, bill histories, and hearing recordings. The staff who run that day spend the morning stitching it together. The Gavel does the stitching, from the public record, before the first gavel.

Your Day, on one page
Your Day is the first screen in The Gavel. It only shows the meetings, bills and votes that involve one member.
- Your committees. Every meeting the member sits on, in order, with the room, the time, the posted agenda and their seat on the committee.
- The floor calendar. The day's calendar for both chambers, as each chamber posts it, with the member's own bills marked so they come first.
- Your bills. Each bill shows the step it has reached, from filed to the governor, with links to the text, the votes and the video.
- Hearing video in chapters. Recorded hearings open split by agenda item, so you can skip to the part you missed.
Every line links to the source
The Gavel is built from the Arkansas Legislature's public record: bills, floor calendars, committee agendas, roll-call votes and hearing video. Every line links to the bill, agenda or video it came from, so a staffer can check anything in one click.
It does not take positions on bills, rank them or predict votes. There is no AI inside the dashboard. If your office uses an AI assistant, you can connect it to the record, read-only.
Set it up once
- Pick your member. Tell The Gavel whose day it is. It finds their committees and bills in the record.
- Open it each morning. Your Day is ready before the first gavel, with today's meetings and calendar.
- Follow anything to the source. Every line links to the bill, the agenda or the video it came from.
Between sessions
Committees such as the Arkansas Legislative Council and the Joint Budget Committee keep meeting in the interim. The Legislature lists those meetings on its meetings and events calendar. Our guides to the fiscal session and how a bill becomes law are written for new staff and anyone who wants a refresher.
