Agendas and minutes

Agendas and minutes are in the city's Agenda Center. Agendas are posted before each meeting. Minutes are posted after the council approves them, which is usually at the next regular meeting.

  1. Open the Agenda Center. Go to the City Council section and pick the year.
  2. Find the meeting date. Each meeting has an agenda file, and minutes once they are approved.
  3. Read the items. Items list what the council will consider, such as resolutions, ordinances, appropriations and public hearings.
  4. Sign up for notices. The Agenda Center has a Notify Me option that emails you when a new agenda is posted.

How to speak at a meeting

Council meetings are open to the public. Some agenda items are listed as a public hearing, which is the point where residents can speak on that item. The city's council pages do not publish a sign-up process or time limit for general comments, so call City Hall at 479-968-2098 before the meeting and ask how to get on the list.

  1. Read the agenda. Find the item you care about and note whether it is a public hearing.
  2. Call City Hall. Ask how public comment works for that meeting and whether you need to sign up.
  3. Contact your council members. You can also reach the two members from your ward before the meeting. Contact info is on the city's council members page.
  4. Arrive early. Meetings start at 6 p.m. in the council chambers at City Hall.
