StateGov vs USLege
USLege is a national platform that covers all 50 states, Congress and many local bodies, with live transcription and published security certifications. StateGov is built for Arkansas only, with hearing video in chapters, every line linked to the public record, and one app for each job.
Last checked against the sources below.
USLege and StateGov both help people follow the Arkansas Legislature. They are built for different jobs. This page compares them using USLege's own public pages, checked on October 19, 2026, and what StateGov does today.
We make StateGov. Every claim about USLege links to the USLege page it comes from. We did not use USLege's paid product, so features behind its login are not covered here.

Where USLege is stronger
- Breadth. If you work in more than one state, or follow Congress, USLege covers it in one account. StateGov does not.
- Local bodies today. USLege's Arkansas page lists 17 quorum courts, including Benton, Washington, Faulkner and Garland, plus five school districts. Its FAQ says other bodies can be added on request. The Docket is still in design.
- Live transcription. USLege describes live transcription with speaker identification and says you can "search 2.4 million hours of government video" across its coverage.
- Security paperwork. It states SOC 2 Type II and TX-RAMP authorization. If your procurement process requires these, USLege has them and StateGov does not.
- More modules. Its features page lists regulatory tracking, campaign finance, social monitoring, a lobbyist registry (Texas only today), tasks and comments, and an MCP connection for AI assistants.
Where StateGov is different
- Arkansas only. StateGov is built for one Legislature. The Gavel knows a member's committees and seats, the House and Senate calendars, and the interim committees that keep meeting between sessions.
- A member's day, not a search box. The Gavel opens on Your Day: the meetings, bills and votes that involve one member, with the room, the time and the posted agenda.
- Hearing video in chapters. Recorded hearings open split by agenda item, so a staffer can skip to the bill they missed.
- The public record, linked. Every line links to the bill, agenda or video it came from. The Gavel does not take positions, rank bills or predict votes, and there is no AI inside the dashboard.
- One job per app. The Gavel is for members and staff. The Whip, in build, is a shared whip count board for lobbying teams. The Docket, in design, is for residents.
- Built in Arkansas. StateGov is a lab run by Natural State Intelligence, in Arkansas.
Who should choose which
Choose USLege if you track several states, need Arkansas quorum courts or school boards today, or need SOC 2 Type II or TX-RAMP for procurement.
Choose StateGov if your work is the Arkansas Legislature, you are a member or staffer who wants one page each morning, or your team wants Arkansas-specific tools for following hearings and, soon, counting votes.
Some teams will use both. A national platform for breadth and an Arkansas tool for the daily Capitol work do not compete for the same hour.
