StateGov vs the Legislature's Personalized Bill Tracking
The Arkansas Legislature's Personalized Bill Tracking is free, official, and enough for many people. It sends a daily email when your bills change. StateGov adds a member's whole day, hearing video in chapters and team tools on top of the same public record.

Before you pay for any tool, try the free one. The Arkansas Legislature's website has a Personalized Bill Tracking service, run by the Bureau of Legislative Research. Anyone can register. This page explains what it does, checked on October 19, 2026, and where StateGov fits beside it.
We make StateGov, and StateGov is built on the same public record the Legislature publishes. The official site is always the source of record.

When the free tracker is enough
- You follow a handful of bills and want to know when they move.
- You want the official source with nothing in between.
- You want notes and simple reports on your bills, and a daily email is fast enough.
If that is you, use it. It is a good service and it costs nothing.
When you might want more
- You run a member's day. The Gavel puts a legislator's committees, the floor calendar, their bills and hearing video on one page, instead of several pages of the Legislature's site.
- You need the hearing, not only the status. A status line says a bill passed committee. The Gavel opens the recording at the chapter for that agenda item.
- You count votes as a team. The Whip, in build, gives a team one shared whip count board. Until then, our whip count guide has a free template.
Questions
Is there a free way to track Arkansas bills?
Yes. The Arkansas Legislature's Personalized Bill Tracking is free. Register on the Legislature's website, add bills by number, and you get a daily email of changes.
Does Personalized Bill Tracking work between sessions?
The Legislature describes it as tracking bill status in the current session. Interim committee meetings are listed elsewhere on the Legislature's site.
Does StateGov replace the Legislature's website?
No. StateGov is built from the Legislature's public record, and every line in The Gavel links back to the bill, agenda or video it came from. The official site stays the source of record.
